A camping stove windscreen keeps a breeze from pushing your flame sideways, which is usually what turns a five-minute boil into a long wait. Stand this hinged aluminum wall around a burner, push the end pins into the dirt, and fold it flat into its bag when dinner is done. It is part of our Sports & Outdoor collection.
Key features
-
Tall enough for most pots – each plate stands 24 cm high and bends around the stove in any curve
-
Two lengths – 8 plates cover about 67 cm, and 10 plates about 82 to 84 cm for larger burners
-
Grooved bottom edge – slots at the base let air reach the flame while the plates block wind
-
Stainless pins – pins at the ends hold the wall in soft ground, and stop it folding in on itself

Frequently asked questions
How many plates does my camp stove need?
A camp stove with one burner works well inside 8 plates. Pick 10 plates if you use larger pots, or want a loose ring with space around the stove.
Can a stove windscreen go around a gas canister?
Do not wrap a stove windscreen tightly around a burner with a screw-on canister. Trapped heat can make the canister dangerously hot, so leave a gap and keep the canister outside the ring.
Does the windscreen stay up in strong wind?
Ground pins hold the windscreen in soft earth, but it is thin aluminum and will not stop a gale. Never cook in a tent, and move to shelter when wind gets strong.
Is the aluminum windshield hot to touch?
Yes, the aluminum windshield gets hot near the flame. Let it cool before folding, and watch the plate edges, which can be sharp.
