Frequently asked questions
Is a mini laser engraver safe to use at home?
A mini laser engraver can injure eyes and start fires, so always wear the goggles, use it in a ventilated space away from flammable items, and never leave it running. It is not a child's toy.
Can this laser engraver mark bare metal?
No, this 3 W laser engraver marks painted metal only by removing the coating. It will not etch bare metal, glass or stone in any useful depth, and cuts just 0.2 mm of thin material.
What materials must I never burn in a laser engraver?
Never burn PVC, vinyl or unknown plastics in a laser engraver, as they can release toxic fumes. Stick to known wood, paper and leather, and vent fumes outdoors.
Which plug should I choose for the engraver?
Choose the US Plug engraver for US-style sockets and the EU Plug for two-pin round sockets. Both come with a 12 V, 2 A adapter.
